Warning: Pinterest May be Habit Forming

In case you haven’t heard, Pinterest, is a two-year-old social bookmarking site, that allows users to collect and share things about topics that interest them. I should say, obsess about. At the moment, for me this is about foods I will never prepare or ideas for weddings that may never happen, or I could never afford. This wedding one is truly embarrassing; I tell you it’s a sickness, an insidious sickness. And for that reason, I will be required to delete my daughters from this Q-Clips distribution.

7 Things Highly Productive People Do

Hello Qclipers! We have been rushing to try and get one last issue out before the end of the year and as you can imagine it has not been easy given the “holiday crunch”. Clients want to get many settled before the Christmas / New Years week and many of us at QuantumMethod take our vacation time during that week as well. So, needles to say it has been a challenge. But, we did it!! I confess that I had a another topic in mind with more depth, but there is simply no time for meet to write it, so I will save it for January.

Toastmasters

Recently I joined the local chapter of Toastmasters and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made. For those of you who aren’t familiar with Toastmasters it is a leadership and communications skills development group that has been around since the 1920’s…The whole thing is similar in to a writing workshop where the group members evaluate each others performances. While this sounds rather dull, let me assure you it is really a great time and extremely valuable.

Mutton Bustin’

Right up front I am going to tell you that this Qclip serves absolutely no purpose what-so-ever other than to hopefully put a smile on your face. Do you know what Mutton Bustin’ is? I sure didn’t until I attended this years California mid-state county fair in Paso Robles. And let me tell you…outrageous fun!

Take it offline. Unplugging for a while can be healthy!

I recently spent some time thinking about the dreaded term “time management” and how I could improve my productivity at work and at home. After a thorough examination of how I spend my time I realized just how much time I spend online or on the phone (email, texting, talking, goggling, doing research for work, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc).
