Hello Qclipers! We have been rush­ing to try and get one last issue out before the end of the year and as you can imag­ine it has not been easy given the “hol­i­day crunch”. Clients want to get many set­tled before the Christ­mas / New Years week and many of us at Quan­tum­Method take our vaca­tion time dur­ing that week as well. So, nee­dles to say it has been a chal­lenge. But, we did it!! I con­fess that I had a another topic in mind with more depth, but there is sim­ply no time for meet to write it, so I will save it for January.

I enjoy “fierce con­ver­sa­tions” with my QM col­leagues, and no more than at the Hol­i­days. We rarely change our opin­ions, but the fact that we can “go there” is both lib­er­at­ing and moti­vat­ing. Noth­ing like a good ver­bal tus­sle with the QM team to clear out the cob­webs and re-energize an after­noon. My col­leagues say that we are really argu­ing about the same thing in these ver­bal duels… I could argue about that…

I had a mil­lion ideas on what to write for this months “sea­sonal” Q-clip but ran the risk of imping­ing jin­gle patents or down right pla­gia­riz­ing content.

So many songs, reli­gious cel­e­bra­tions, mar­ket­ing and hype of the sea­son infil­trate the day. I pause to won­der how this win­ter hol­i­day sea­son evolved over­time? How can I cap­ture my thoughts in a con­cise man­ner and rep­re­sent what not only I am think­ing but how oth­ers por­tray the sea­son?
Then, the Hai-ku came along.

This will be the first time I can remem­ber that I haven’t made it home for Christ­mas. And I already miss it. I miss the smell of the air and sharp bite of the wind against the skin of my face. I am going to miss see­ing my fam­ily and our var­i­ous tra­di­tions. From our bright and early Christ­mas morn­ing to The new Years party at my Aunt and Uncles house, stay­ing up late play­ing games and solv­ing puz­zles with peo­ple I love. That said, this also rep­re­sents an oppor­tu­nity to cre­ate some new tra­di­tions, and I am very much look­ing for­ward to, and excited about the possibilities.
